Indulging in some deviled eggs

Guest post written by Katie Somerset

I keep myself on a pretty strict diet because my metabolism is not very good. So there are a lot of my favorite foods that I don't let myself eat all that often. Just a few of them include dishes that are normally left for big holiday meals, like my favorite, deviled eggs. I think that's why I've been able to avoid so many of them over the years. If they were things so readily available to me, I would surely be too tempted by them.

But, I let my weakness get to me over Easter and had to try and make some deviled eggs on my own again. When I was looking up some yummy sounding deviled egg recipes I ran across the site debt settlement usa and after I read through it a little bit I decided to use it to help out with our family debt situation.

I finally settled on a deviled eggs that sounded the best to me and it was heaven! I just need to make sure that I don't get in the habit of fixing them too often.

Fifty Shades of Grey

I jumped on the bandwagon and picked up Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L. James. Why? Because I'm the only person in the department that hasn't read/isn't reading it. Have I mentioned that I currently work in the children's department? No? Very well then. Forget it I brought it up.

So I picked up a Kindle copy and I'm already two chapters in. It's not picking up my interest, but it is a faster read than most books in its genre - don't know if that's a compliment or and insult. With a newborn and my writing reviving itself from the dead, I'm not making too much for the book. Hopefully, I can get some me time and read a good chunk tomorrow.

A little upholstered bench for our guest bedroom

Guest post written by Chloe Malcolm

The last room that we've bothered to decorate in our new house is the guest bedroom. We just don't use it on a normal basis so it's been our place to stash junk and the things we haven't unpacked yet. Now it's that room's time, but we have a little budget left for it. So we're being creative about how exactly we're decorating it.

We got a really great deal on our kitchen remodeling, even better than we expected. So we have a little bit more money left than we expected. But I want to try a couple of projects in there that I've been dying to DIY.

The first one is going to be an upholstered bench. I found the tutorial for it a while back and knew that I had to do it one way or another. At least if it turns out looking bad because of my lack of craftiness, I can just keep it in my guest room where I don't have to look at it if I don't want to!
We’re raised in a culture that both celebrates and pathologizes male “dirtiness.” On the one hand, boys were and are given license to be louder, rowdier, and more sexual. We’re expected to get our hands dirty, to rip our pants, and get covered in stains. We enjoy a freedom to be dirty that goes hand in hand with the expectation that we are in a state of perpetual craving for women’s bodies. Even now, too many girls grow up shamed for wanting to be dirty. And if men’s bodies are dirty, then to lust after them is to be dirty as well.  – Hugo Schwyzer, “I Want You To Want Me”. Best Sex Writing 2012 compiled by Susie Bright; Edited by Rachel Kramer Bussel.

Accountant

Posted by Arden Wallace

Okay, so people give a lot of sympathy for a wife who's husband is away at war, what about a wife who's husband is an accountant and has to live at work during tax season? I know, I know, maybe it isn't the same as them being in a foreign country and getting shot at or having car bombs blow up near them, but it still really stinks. I am left at home alone for countless nights stuck just watching Directv St Petersburg. You can really only watch so much TV or surf the internet so much. And do you know how hard it is to cook for one person? It is basically pointless, so I end up eating fast food almost every night. That is so unhealthy and makes me feel so nasty. I hate that I end up gaining like twenty pounds every tax season and my husband looses weight because he is working so hard he doesn't have time to eat! I am going to plan some few vacations for myself next tax season.

Whatever Happened to This Blog?

Three books from Rachel Kramer Bussel have arrived in my mailbox for the last few months - Best Bondage Erotica 2012, Best Sex Writing 2012, and Irresistible: Erotic Romance for Couples. I just have to say that I love this woman and all she does. And while the first two were mind blowing, the latter didn't hit me as hard - perhaps I've become desensitized - though, it's probably that the subtitle is true to its word.

Irresistible is a great read, don't get me wrong. It's just not one you go in alone. Read it with your lover and create and borrow fantasies from the pages.

Granny Shirley

Guest written by our friend Sergio Chaney

My son plays high school baseball. One of his best friends on the team is named Josh. Josh’s mom works for one of the airlines and gets to fly free all of the time. Sometimes she gets extra passes, and she and Josh invite my son to go fly with them to different places. One time they took my son and another friend to the Virgin Islands. That was an experience of a life time. The last time my son got invited to go with Josh, they went to Columbus, Ohio, to visit Josh’s Granny Shirley. From what I hear, Granny Shirley is quite a character. My son says she dresses really funny and laughs all the time. She can cook some really good cornbread. She says her secret ingredient is sugar. They did bring me some back after that trip, and I thought it was awesome. Granny Shirley is a former high school social studies teacher. So she has a wealth of knowledge about history. One of her favorite things to do is watch old war movies on http://www.directstartv.com/. So my son said that both nights that they were there, they had to sit with Granny Shirley in her den and watch two different movies about World War II. I am pretty sure it was boring to him, but she did feed them homemade ice cream.
